The New York Knicks won Game 3 on Sunday, 106-100, to make the series 2-1, with Game 4 tipping off on Tuesday. Today, ESPN was told that Tyrese Haliburton’s dad, John Haliburton, will be able to start attending Pacers home games in a suite starting with Game 4. He has not gone to a game since it was decided after the incident with Giannis Antetokounmpo on April 29. Let’s see what has happened since the decision was made.

What Has Haliburton Missed

John Haliburton has missed eight games since the decision was made by the Pacers’ front office. He was understanding and accepting of that decision. He will continue to remain away from road games, sources told ESPN. The incident between John Haliburton and Antetokounmpo happened as the Pacers were celebrating Tyrese Haliburton’s go-ahead layup with 1.3 seconds left in overtime to give them a series-clinching victory over the Bucks.

According to Antetokounmpo, John Haliburton walked toward the Bucks star waving a towel and swearing at him in a “disrespectful” exchange. The two were face-to-face before they were pulled away by Bucks players and team security. Antetokounmpo said that he talked with John Haliburton after the skirmish and that “we’re in a good place.”

John Haliburton apologized on social media shortly after the game, writing: “I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Pacers organization for my actions following tonight’s game. This was not a good reflection on our sport or my son and I will not make that mistake again.” Tyrese Haliburton said after the game that he didn’t know what happened until he got back to the locker room, but he agreed that his father was out of line and said he had a conversation with him as well.

Final Thoughts

I feel it is the right decision to allow him to come and watch his son play in one of the biggest games of his young career. He was punished for the stupid mistake that he made and will never make it again. The whole situation was uncalled for. It also did look bad for the sport. He has learned from his mistake and will get better from it. Stay tuned to Total Apex Sports for all the NBA Playoff news heading forward.
