It feels good to be the Golden State Warriors right now, doesn't it? The Warriors are 8-2 over their last 10 games and have looked like a team reborn since the addition of Jimmy Butler. There remains one more key piece of good news that the franchise will await.
The Warriors will travel to the state of New York to take on the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. Golden State has as close to a clean bill of health as they could ask for.
Anthony Slater reported that the majority of the Warriors are fully clear of the injury report for the matchup against the Nets. There are two notable exceptions to that.
Gary Payton II would be one of them. The defensive guard is listed as probable, offering optimism that he will play, barring an unexpected setback.
Jonathan Kuminga is the major name to look out for. The Warriors forward has been out of the lineup since suffering a right ankle injury on Jan. 4 against the Memphis Grizzlies.
While Kuminga's return date is certainly looming, it will not be against the Nets. The four-year pro has once again been listed as out for this contest.
Kuminga has averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, with shooting splits of 46-35-64 during the 32 games played in the 2024-25 NBA season.
The rising star was really hitting his stride before the injury. His averages were up to 22.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists during his last seven games before going down.
As Warriors fans eagerly await the return of Kuminga to the lineup, they will want to know that Nets big man Noah Clowney is listed as out for Thursday's matchup due to an ankle injury of his own.
Tipoff between these two teams is set for 7:00PM ET at the Barclays Center.
