LeBron James' agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, has seemingly refuted claims about there being no trade market for the Los Angeles Lakers forward.
ESPN's Bobby Marks, a former Brooklyn Nets assistant general manager, has said that "there isn't" a trade market for the 40-year-old superstar. ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin, however, said that Paul had told him multiple teams had already contacted him about acquiring James.

"When I talked to Rich, he told me that he has not had any discussions with the Lakers about wanting a trade on the back end of his statement," McMenamin said Monday on "NBA Today." "He did say that four teams have contacted him in the last 24 hours wanting to talk trades, but Rich didn't have any substantive conversations with those teams, either."
James has exercised his $52.6M player option for the 2025-26 season and has a no-trade clause in his contract. Still, he may be keeping his options open.
"Right now, LeBron is focused on playing on a championship-caliber roster. Rich told me there's no guarantees in building a championship-caliber roster, but we know what it looks like and doesn't look like," McMenamin said. "We'll see if in a week from now, when [Lakers general manager] Rob Pelinka's finished doing his work with this roster, if it looks like a winning realistic situation."
The Lakers' first day of free agency on Monday probably didn't inspire confidence. L.A. lost forward Dorian Finney-Smith — who finished second on the team in three-point percentage last season (39.8 percent in 43 regular-season games) — to the Houston Rockets.
The Lakers still have time to make more moves, but if they don't, James may wonder if he can win his fifth championship in L.A. The Minnesota Timberwolves eliminated the Lakers in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs last season, even though they acquired star guard Luka Doncic in a midseason trade with the Dallas Mavericks.
James may be committed to the Lakers for now, but potential suitors should continue to monitor his situation.
