Jordan Clarkson Opens Up on Experiencing Knicks vs. Lakers From Both Sides

New York Knicks backup guard Jordan Clarkson is struggling this season. It may be due to inconsistent playing time or his game declining due to age. And maybe he’s a bit struggling because of Mike Brown’s offensive schemes. Sure, he’s had some moments of brilliance, but it’s becoming too scarce as of late.

But for the American-Filipino guard, he’s had the not-so-common distinction under his resume – donning the jersey of the Lakers and the Knicks. Drafted late in the second round in 2014, JC spent his first three and a half seasons in LA. He first made a name in that franchise. Now, at 33 years old, he’s in his first season with the Knicks.

He recently shared how it feels playing for both sides, and he’s had a brutal assessment of his experience so far.

“experiencing knicks x lakers from both sides was tuff,” Jordan Clarkson wrote on his official X account.

Maybe Jordan Clarkson was referring to fan experiences with his post? It’s well known that Knicks fans are much more passionate about their team than Lakers fans. And JC is in a different situation right now. Back when he was still in LA, that team was in a rebuilding phase. New York is actively seeking to win a title with their current core.

Jordan Clarkson’s Knicks Tenure Was Not Off To A Good Start

There’s no doubt that Clarkson has been mostly a non-factor with the Knicks this season. He’s only averaging around 19 minutes per night. What’s worse is that his numbers across the board have all been career lows.

Earlier this season, during a game against the Nets, Jordan Clarkson was fuming after being fouled out. His teammates laughed during his outburst, too. Given a longer leash because NY was blowing out Brooklyn, JC’s actions were quite understandable.

Now, he needs to bring that kind of energy and passion for the rest of the season for the Knicks.
