The 'NBA steals-per-game leaders' quiz

After nine days without a game, the New York Knicks will finally return to the hardwood on Tuesday in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

After blowing past the Philadelphia 76ers in a dominant sweep, the Knicks have waited since May 10 to learn their Conference Final opponent. While the time off has probably made some fans antsy, it has also allowed a key player to nurse an injury.

OG Anunoby missed the final two games of the Sixers series with a hamstring strain, but has returned to practice and said this injury wasn’t as severe as injuries he’s had before.

“It didn’t feel as bad as the past when it happened. So I’m just trying to improve it day by day,” he said this weekend after logging a full practice.

Anunoby was off to a scorching start to the 2026 NBA Playoffs, averaging a career-high 21.4 points and 7.5 rebounds-per-game in eight contests before the injury.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. While Anuboby has developed into a good offensive player, the Knicks will also need his defense while trying to hold the one-two-punch of Donovan Mitchell and James Harden in check. With that being said, can you name the NBA players to lead the NBA in steals-per-game in each season since the NBA/ABA merger in 1976-77?

Good luck!
