The Phoenix Suns jumped out to an 11-6 record earlier in the year but have fallen closer to .500 with a 15-13 record heading into tomorrow night's marquee matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.
The Suns dropped a 119-116 game to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night during which guard Grayson Allen was held out due to right knee soreness.
The situation got an update from coach Jordan Ott on Monday during which the Suns leader shared information on a wide variety of topics pertaining to his team.
Allen practiced on Monday, Ott revealed, adding that he participated in "most" of the day's practice drills.
Allen last played on Sunday, Dec. 14 against the Lakers in Phoenix, during which he scored 13 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed three steals against his team's rivals to the West.
The former Duke Blue Devils guard and lightning rod for controversy during his college days has an average of 16.3 points per game this season and has scored in double digits in all but two games this season, against the Nets on Oct. 12 and the Rockets on Dec. 5.
Allen appears to be a great fit for Ott's system with the Suns in need of more scoring heading down the stretch of the year.
Ott also spoke on the situation involving guard Jalen Green, who is expected back soon after a right hamstring strain.
"He's heading in the right direction," Ott said about the high-flying Suns guard.
Green's forthcoming return gives fans, Ott and his coaching staff hope for better days ahead. The former Rockets star has played in two games this season, a far cry from what fans expected when he came over via trade during the offseason.
With Allen and Green back in the fold, the Suns will be able to field a full complement of players giving them a better chance to ascending back up the standings again.
