Jordan Poole Gets Put on the Spot After Young Fan Reignites Draymond Green Incident With Wild Question

Nearly four years after Draymond Green’s wild incident with Jordan Poole, a young fan dug up old bones during an interaction with the New Orleans Pelicans’ point guard.

Green knocked Poole to the ground after a heated exchange during a Golden State Warriors practice session on October 5, 2022. The 2019 No. 28 pick shoved the veteran first, and the Warriors’ power forward followed it with a punch to the youngster’s face.

Recently, Legion Hoops shared a short clip of Poole interacting with a young fan, who asked an unexpected question.

“You used to watch when we were in Golden State?” Poole asked.

“But how did you feel when Draymond punched you?” the kid responded.

“Oh, my. It’s tough, bro.” Poole said.

Green apologized to Poole, the Warriors’ sixth man during their 2022 championship run, and his family. However, management fined the four-time NBA All-Star did not receive a suspension or any other disciplinary action from the league.

Green voluntarily stepped away from the team for a few days before returning. Coach Steve Kerr labeled the incident the biggest crisis that they have ever had since his arrival.

In June 2023, the Warriors traded Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for veteran point guard Chris Paul. The Wizards also received a protected 2030 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick. The Warriors also sent Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins to Washington as part of the deal.

Jordan Poole is Having a Hard Time in New Orleans

Lately, Jordan Poole’s tenure with the New Orleans Pelicans hasn’t gone the way he would have liked. The former NBA champion guard has seen his performance decline.

Poole was booed in front of his new home crowd in a 112-104 loss against the Detroit Pistons on January 21. His three-point attempt came nowhere close to the rim, and the airball led to the crowd booing the Pelicans guard.

He also faced significant booing by the Wizards fans when Poole returned to Capital One Arena with the Pelicans on January 9. In that game, Poole played 12 minutes without scoring. The Pelicans won that game 128-107. The boos came after Poole called Washington’s crowd dead after playing in the Smoothie King Center.

The 26-year-old has received comparatively less playing time under interim coach James Borrego. In 27 games this season, Poole has averaged 14.8 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game on 37.3% shooting from the field and 33.8% from three-point range.
