NBA restricted free agent Josh Giddey has been predicted to sign a $96 million contract with the Chicago Bulls.

NBA writer Dan Favale of Bleacher Report thinks Giddey will re-sign with the Bulls on a four-year, $96 million deal.

Giddey wants to make $30 million per year on his next deal, but the Bulls have not offered him that. The Golden State Warriors are interested in Giddey, but the Bulls will not sign-and-trade the Australian point-forward.

Giddey will likely have to re-sign with Chicago on a contract that doesn’t pay him $30 million annually because there are no teams with cap space to sign him to an offer sheet. This has been a tough offseason for Giddey and fellow restricted free agents Jonathan Kuminga, Cam Thomas and Quentin Grimes.

“Bet on this ending with a four-year deal that sees Chicago come up a little bit and Giddey moving off his initial ask in exchange for flexibility at the end of the contract,” Favale wrote. “Prediction: Josh Giddey re-signs with the Bulls on a four-year, $96 million deal, with a player option on the final season.”

Giddey averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks last season for the Bulls, shooting 46.5% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 78.1% from the free-throw line. He recorded 30 double-doubles and seven triple-doubles in 70 games.

Chicago acquired Giddey from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Alex Caruso trade. Caruso helped the Thunder win the 2025 championship against the Indiana Pacers in seven games, while Giddey and the Bulls missed the 2025 playoffs.

Giddey turns 23 in October. He has career averages of 14.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Thunder and Bulls.

Chicago has made the postseason just once (2022) since trading Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night in 2016. The franchise is stuck in mediocrity after winning six championships in the ’90s with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
