Josh Hart Makes Funny Money Jokes

Josh Hart's stat line for Wednesday's contest at Madison Square Garden didn't suggest strictly business for the New York Knicks wing. However, following the Knicks' 119-103 victory over the Utah Jazz, Hart took a moment for humor while discussing the matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. In classic Hart fashion, he aimed a friendly joke at an ex-teammate.

Despite Towns scoring a game-high 31 points, Hart dominated the box score with a triple-double performance. Hart finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists. However, Hart saved his memorable performance for the locker room after the game.

During his locker room media availability, the Knicks wing made his best stand-up comedy impression by mentioning Isaiah Hartenstein's upcoming performance vs. the Knicks. Hartenstein played 157 games with the Knicks, exploding during the 2024 playoffs, including a game-winning offensive rebound vs. the Philadelphia 76ers in the opening round.

After such a memorable playoff outing, the Thunder signed Hartenstein to a 2+1 deal, with the third year being a team option. Oklahoma City guaranteed Hartenstein $58 million, and if it exercises the club option in the third year, it will pay the center a total of $870 million.

Hart referenced Hartenstein's pay in his postgame joke session.

"This will be a good test," Hart said. "The big man (Isaiah Hartenstein) got paid this summer, so he should be a little slow on his feet and slow trying to protect the rim. We should be able to go at him."

The Thunder have the best record in the Western Conference at 27-5, giving the Knicks a legitimate test. Hartenstein added to an already stout defense in Oklahoma City. Expect the Knicks to share pleasantries with their former teammate before the high-quality contest.
