Josh Hart reveals injury he suffered over the summer that will carry into the 2025-26 NBA season

The New York Knicks come into this season with championship aspirations.

The Knicks were eliminated in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals by the Indiana Pacers in six games, falling just short of making their first NBA Finals since 1999.

However, the Knicks loaded up this summer, adding some nice depth pieces in Jordan Clarkson, Guerschon Yabusele and Malcolm Brogdon.

With the Pacers and Boston Celtics expected to take a step back this season, the Knicks are considered to be one of the favorites to get out of the Eastern Conference next year.

New York Knicks guard Josh Hart reaggravated a finger injury, believes he will have to wear a splint this season

Josh Hart said at Knicks media day that he reaggravated the right finger injury that he had a procedure on back in June.

However, he plans to play the entire season without fixing the problem until next offseason.

Hart had a procedure done on his right ring finger back on July 16 to correct an injury he sustained during the Knicks’ playoff run.

Hart also didn’t answer when he was asked if surgery is off the table to correct the issue before next summer.

The New York Knicks have big expectations for 2025-26 NBA season

The Knicks are going to need Hart to be at his best if they want to have a long playoff run.

The Knicks have little room for error this season and in a wide-open Eastern Conference they are expected to make the NBA Finals.

New York’s biggest challenger will be the Cleveland Cavaliers, but when looking at the Knicks’ starting lineup and depth, many people would like the Knicks’ chances in that potential showdown.

After the Knicks made a head coaching change by bringing in Mike Brown, the Knicks have everything they need to reach an NBA Finals. Now, they must go out there and prove they can do it.
