FOX Sports has officially parted ways with host Joy Taylor, declining to renew her contract amid a broader shake-up that also includes the cancellation of several FS1 studio programs.
Taylor, 38, had been a prominent presence on the network since 2016.
The network isn’t stopping there. FS1 is pulling the plug on Speak, which Taylor co-hosted with Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce, as well as two morning shows, “Breakfast Ball” and “The Facility.” Those programs reportedly failed to gain traction, prompting FOX to pivot its daytime lineup.
Despite the outlets shutting down, flagship shows remain intact. The Herd with Colin Cowherd and First Things First with Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes will continue airing in their current slots even as FS1 works to develop fresh content to fill the vacated hours.
The departure marks a turning point for Taylor, whose future at FOX looked tenuous after her contract expired this summer. That fragility increased amid a high-profile lawsuit — including claims that her role and behavior at FS1 were under scrutiny — although FOX has not issued any specific public statements tying the exit to those issues.
As FS1 shifts gears, early signs show a network shedding underperforming content while preserving its core opinion-driven lineup. Taylor’s exit and the cancellations reflect a broader trend toward recalibrating daytime strategy without losing its established afternoon brands.
FS1 plans to introduce new shows in the coming months. In the meantime, the network will rely on its top-tier programming, preserving its focus even as it tightens its approach during a continual effort to boost ratings and refine its content mix.
