Karl-Anthony Towns addressed his noticeable change in appearance

Karl-Anthony Towns surely isn’t loading up on carbs during the NBA offseason.

The star NBA big man showed up to Monday’s Media Day looking so much slimmer than when he and the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals.

Towns’ appearance might have taken fans aback, but certainly not him — or his wife, model and singer Jordyn Woods.

“I don’t know, I thought my wife thought I looked good, so I thought I was looking alright,” Towns told reporters

The former Kentucky Wildcats star explained that he usually loses weight during the offseason.

“I just, in the offseason I always lose a lot of the weight, you know, I put on the weight for the season. It’s just good for my body, good for my knees, you know, keeps me young and I just kind of.

The 7-foot Towns should be able to add more muscle as the new season approaches, with the Knicks looking forward to the long grind of their NBA championship defense.

Towns and the Knicks ended a 53-year title drought with a memorable run in the 2026 NBA Playoffs, and they are now aiming to become the first team since the Golden State Warriors in the late 2010s to win consecutive championships.

Speaking of things getting slimmer, Anthony is also facing the possibility of taking a massive pay cut to help the Knicks keep the band together.

At the moment, Towns and the Knicks have not agreed to an extension, but he is still under contract through the 2026-27 season, with a player option for 2027-28.
