Josh Hart did not like waiting for a whole week before the finals. Now we know why. Having guided his team to an emphatic victory, the 31-year-old star is currently in the spotlight. But as it turns out, Hart is not a big fan of numbers. And this also left Karl-Anthony Towns surprised.
Following the win, Hart and Anthony Towns addressed the media. When one of the reporters tried to speak about analytics, the Maryland native had a hilarious reply.
Hart said, “I’m never a huge analytics guy; at a certain point, they’re lamp posts to a drunk person. You can lean on them, but it won’t get you home. At some point, you gotta have a good feel for the game.”
Upon hearing the statement, Towns, who was sitting right next to Hart, started to laugh. The Knicks’ star had a bewildered expression on his face as KAT could not believe his fellow teammate actually made the joke. Interestingly, this particular quote did not originally come from the 6-foot-5. Rather, it originated from his Villanova coach, Jay Wright.

However, despite Hart ignoring the numbers, it did speak in his favor. Dropping 26 points on the night, the 31-year-old’s surge propelled the Knicks to a 2-0 lead.
Meanwhile, praising the 31-year-old’s efforts, head coach Mike Brown discussed some crucial game plans.
The Knicks need just two more wins to seal an NBA finals berth. And with the likes of Hart, Brunson, and more making merry, the possibility is looking quite a reality. Following the win, head coach Brown termed Hart a ‘baller.’ He also praised the way the Knicks’ star made decisions for himself and his team.
Going forward, Brown also briefed on the Knicks’ possible strategies. “We have to play fast so we’re not going against a set defense all the time. When you get out in transition, if you’re a team that cross-matches and you get out in transition, it’s going to be hard to find the right bodies.”
"It's just who Josh is. He's a gamer. He knew what he had to do in terms of the adjustments he needed to make in order to be effective, not just for him but for the team."
