Karl-Anthony Towns Has No Words After Knicks Fire Tom Thibodeau

New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns was at the center of attention recently as his team was eliminated from the NBA Playoffs.

The Knicks, led by head coach Tom Thibodeau, made their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years. Towns was an excellent co-star to Jalen Brunson all season long, too.

However, it was the first season the star duo and coach spent together. They won't get to run it back, either, to try and figure out how to unlock their play on the hardwood further.

The Knicks fired Thibodeau in a move that turned many heads on Tuesday. Despite helping turn the franchise back to winning ways, the club decided it needed to go in a new direction to pursue a title.

Evidently, the Knicks were unable to play their defense-oriented style of play. The offense behind Brunson and Towns, however, should have been better.

Still, Thibodeau didn't quite get the chance to put the squad together for more than one season.

After receiving the news, Towns took to his Instagram story to react to the news, though he had no words. He simply shared a photo of himself sitting beside Thibodeau, with both smiling.

Thibodeau also coached Towns with the Minnesota Timberwolves

While Towns isn't exactly the defensive anchor that will thrive in Thibodeau's system, the two have been able to spend quite a bit of time together, nurturing a relationship.

With the Knicks getting a new bench boss, it'll be interesting to see what the franchise does with the roster -- and whether or not Towns is a part of those plans.

New York is big fish hunting this offseason, as they are ready to be aggressive. It's hard to imagine they don't see Towns and his contract as expendable.

All eyes will be on the Big Apple as the offseason develops.
