As the Los Angeles Clippers-Toronto Raptors trade package surrounding Kawhi Leonard remains in limbo due to an ongoing NBA investigation, the star forward revealed that he is preparing to release new music.
Leonard, who is currently traveling through Asia during the NBA offseason, shared the update in a viral clip while discussing what he has been working on away from basketball. The 35-year-old said he has collaborated with Top Barry on an upcoming release.
“We’ve been working on some music out here as well so stay tuned,” Leonard said. “Yeah, me and Top Barry got something dropping.”
Leonard is currently touring Hong Kong and China, where he has participated in youth basketball camps and fan events. The trip comes during an uncertain period surrounding his NBA future, with a potential trade package between the Clippers and Raptors remaining unresolved amid the league’s investigation.

While Leonard is primarily known for his reserved personality and accomplishments on the basketball court, his connection to music is not new. The two-time NBA champion previously entered the music space through his Culture Jam project, which combined music with charitable initiatives and featured several established artists.
Leonard did not reveal a release date, song title or additional details about his upcoming collaboration with Top Barry.
For now, the music announcement provides another glimpse into Leonard’s offseason activities as he remains overseas. His basketball future, meanwhile, remains unsettled as the Clippers, Raptors and NBA await further clarity surrounding the investigation and potential trade.
