Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard offered words of wisdom to ‘Chinese Jokic.’
The 2024-25 NBA season marked Kawhi Leonard’s 13th year in the league as the LA Clippers star continues his search for a third title of his career.
Although Leonard has struggled to deliver a championship to the Clippers, he remains one of the best players in the league when he’s fit.
Keeping that in mind, it’s no surprise that young players look forward to Leonard’s wisdom. Portland Trail Blazers‘ rookie Yang Hansen, a.k.a. ‘Chinese Jokic’, recently experienced this.
Being the 16th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Hansen is expected to carve out a decent career in the league.
However, Hansen’s 2025 NBA Summer League campaign was somewhat underwhelming as the 20-year-old failed to leave a huge impression.
In addition, Hansen recently made a ‘fast like rabbits’ admission about the pace of NBA players.
“The pace is kind of fast. They [players] are really fast like rabbits. Extremely fast,” Hansen said (h/t Swish Cultures).
Upon hearing that, Leonard quickly gave Hansen advice that would likely help the rookie in adjusting to the NBA.
“Once you get a few more games under your belt, it will slow down,” Leonard stated.
Considering Kawhi has multiple accolades to his name, Hansen should certainly believe the Clippers star’s advice to grow in the league.
Ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season, the 34-year-old star made an unexpected announcement. Well, Leonard announced his 2025 Asia Tour as he plans to travel the continent.
Because of the tour, Leonard urged Hansen to teach him how to talk trash in Mandarin.
“How [do] you talk trash? I need some in-person coaching for that,” the veteran forward stated.

On top of that, the Klaw also announced his plans to play basketball with Hansen once his tour begins. Could this be a way to recruit ‘Chinese Jokic’ to the Clippers? Only time will tell.
