Giannis Antetokounmpo has shown the world that he could be a superstar that can lead a team to the championship. After a few years of shortcomings in the playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks have managed to go all the way, and win themselves a ring this season. Antetokounmpo was the driving force behind that, and he deservedly won Finals MVP.

It's unclear whether the Milwaukee Bucks can repeat what they did next season, but there are some that have already crowned Giannis Antetokounmpo as the best player in the world after his dominant championship run. One of those people is Kendrick Perkins. Perkins noted that he thinks "it's only fair" that Antetokounmpo is viewed as the No. 1 player going into next season.

Two-time MVP, Defensive Player of the Year in the same year. Joins the company of Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon. And what was the knock on Giannis? That he did not complete the mission. But now that he has not only completed it, he dominated. Down 0-2, coming back, winning four straight, averaging 35, 13, 6 assists along with 1.5 blocks in the Finals. And let’s not talk about game six...

I talked to six general managers... I said "If you were starting a franchise today, who would you take?" Each one of them said Giannis Antetokounmpo... I We have to deal with this brother for the next 10 years. Six of those years, he is going to dominate the league and be the most dominant player, which might put him in the category of being the best player in the league over the next five to six years. The last four of those years on the backend, he’s going to have a really good four years... Right now, after Giannis won the championship along with the Finals MVP, I think it's only fair to start the season with him at No. 1

There is no question that Giannis Antetokounmpo has a case to be the best player in the world, though there are other players who are vying for that title. Antetokounmpo himself has claimed that he is not the best player in the world, instead claiming that it is LeBron James.

The Milwaukee Bucks will have to show everyone that they can repeat, though that is easier said than done. If they manage to do so, Giannis Antetokounmpo's case for the throne will be even stronger than it is currently.
