The alleged Kevin Durant burner story has blown up over the past few days and now the 15-time All-Star is officially answering to it.
Over the NBA's All-Star break, fans discovered an X account ripping Houston Rockets players, coaches and other stars KD has played with.
We've of course been here before with Durant, who admitted to using burner accounts back in 2017 and even hinted at potentially having a burner on Threads more recently. But a new set of allegations has brought another scandal to light and now the future Hall of Famer is forced to comment on it.
Speaking to reporters after Wednesday's practice, the Rockets forward gave his first interview in regard to this most recent burner story which the two-time Finals MVP distilled down to "Twitter nonsense."
“I know you’ve got to ask these questions, but I’m not here to get into Twitter [X] nonsense,” Durant said, via Lachard Binkley. “I’m here to focus on the season and keep pushing. My teammates know what it is, we’ve been locked in the whole season. We had a great practice today, and we’re looking forward to the road trip.”
Unverified screenshots appear to show whoever was behind the account taking shots at Houston big man Alperen Sengun, as well as former No. 3 pick Jabari Smith Jr. — calling out their ability to shoot and defend while also referring to Smith as "ret—ed" — which wasn't exactly denied with this latest statement.

During a recent podcast appearance with Jeff Teague and the "Club" 520 crew, Durant's Rockets teammate Fred VanVleet, who continues to recover from a torn ACL, talked about how special of a scorer KD is now that he's gotten to see it up close throughout the year.
“KD changed the way I view everything this year. Because it’s like it’s so easy for him," VanVleet explained. "And he really be chilling. Like, he don’t do too much. He just waits. He can go a couple of minutes without touching the ball. He don’t say nothing. He’ll go stand in the corner. And he just don’t miss. He don’t miss.”
KD is as skilled a scorer as we've ever seen in the NBA. But for all that talent, Durant seems to find himself in the middle of situations like these more than he probably should.
