Kevin Durant’s NBA career is winding down. The 36-year-old superstar has been a fixture in the league since being selected second overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, a franchise that no longer exists.

Despite his age, Durant remains deeply connected to the game and his fans, both on and off the court.

The latest chapter in the former University of Texas standout’s off-court ventures is the release of his newest shoe. Known for his stylish and performance-driven footwear, Durant shared the news by reposting the product launch on Instagram, without saying a word:

"The KD18 'DMV Drive' Is Now Available."

Durant has always had a strong presence in the sneaker world. After entering the league, he signed a lucrative endorsement deal with Nike, which was extended in 2014 for 10 years at a reported $300 million.

His signature shoe line began with the KD1, which debuted in the colors of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant’s team after the SuperSonics relocated. Thirteen colorways were released after the debut. The latest model, the KD18, is the first new addition to the line since the KD17 was released in April 2024.

According to the official website, The Nike KD 18 “DMV Drive” is set to release on May 15, 2025, via select retailers for $150.

Durant has won two NBA championships, both with the Golden State Warriors, and was named Finals MVP in both title runs. He was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2014 and has been selected to the All-Star Game 15 times, earning All-Star MVP honors in 2012 and 2019.

He was named NBA Rookie of the Year in 2008 and has led the league in scoring four times.

During the 2024-25 season, Durant appeared in 62 games, averaging 26.6 points per contest. Injuries, including a nagging left ankle sprain, hampered his season.

Now, questions loom about his future in Phoenix. With the Suns missing the playoffs, there’s talk Durant could be traded for “one last run” with a contender.
