Kevin Garnett Delivers 3-Word Statement About Brandon Ingram, Kevin Durant

The Toronto Raptors have not had the season that they had hoped for thus far.

Toronto currently sits 13th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 17-37 record. With this being the case, it is likely that the Raptors’ season is already over, but they did make a surprising blockbuster trade at the deadline to acquire another star.

Of course, the Raptors were reportedly actively searching for another star player to pair alongside Scottie Barnes and the rest of their young core, and they were able to do so by landing Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans.

Ingram has yet to make his Raptors’ debut due to an ankle injury, but they are excited about his fit on the roster as Toronto and Ingram agreed on a three-year contract extension on Tuesday.

On Tuesday’s episode of the KG Certified podcast, Kevin Garnett and Matt Barnes were discussing the Raptors’ trade for Ingram, and Garnett compared Ingram to an NBA legend.

“A baby KD (Kevin Durant),” Garnett said about Ingram.

This is an interesting comparison for Garnett to make, but it does make sense. Ingram and Durant have similar skillsets and Ingram is well on his way to becoming a superstar player in the NBA.

While he is not yet on Durant’s level of greatness, which few players are, Ingram is still only 27 years old and still has a ton of career left. Of course, Ingram has dealt with a ton of injuries throughout his career that has cost him a ton of games, but if he is able to stay healthy over the rest of his career, he could eventually become a superstar player in the NBA.

Ingram is a great scorer who can get to the rim or pull up from beyond the arc. He is also a solid defender and playmaker, who has shown flashes of a Durant-like skillset.

The 27-year-old still has a ton of time left in his career to live up to Garnett’s comparison, and the Raptors hope that he can become as great as Durant is and help them win multiple titles during his time with the franchise.
