Kevon Looney and Jordan Poole will be reunited on the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Golden State Warriors‘ 2022 NBA Championship-winning roster featured the duo of Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney.
However, with Poole getting traded to the Washington Wizards in 2023, the two stars stayed apart for the last two seasons.
Well, Poole and Looney are once again reunited as they have become teammates on the New Orleans Pelicans for the 2025-26 NBA season.
While Poole’s absence is a major change for the Wizards, the 2022 NBA Champ seems excited about the move.
Poole is already excited to play with Looney, as the 26-year-old loves the screens that the former Warriors center sets on the court.
Following Poole’s statement, Looney returned the favor by heaping huge praise on JP ahead of the upcoming season.
“My first show, he was a young guy trying to figure it out, but later, his last couple years with playing with him, he was starting to be more vocal, but now you can see he’s way more confident.
“He’s almost at veteran status in the league. I’m not gonna give him that credit yet, but he’s almost there,” Looney said on Day 2 of Pelicans’ training camp.
He added: “But you know, he’s definitely more vocal. He’s stepping into his leadership, especially being a lead guard; you gotta be somebody that we can follow. And he’s been stepping into that role.
Over the years, Poole has already proven that he can score well on the court. However, according to Looney, Poole had trouble playing at a fast pace during his Warriors stint.
Poole has seemingly erased that flaw from his game, as Looney has seen growth in the guard’s decision-making.
“His pace, his decision-making, [we used] to get on him early in his career about not playing too fast,” Looney continued.
“Now he kind of sees control of the offense, knowing where he wants to get to, knowing his spots on the court. And he’s competing more,” Looney concluded.
Poole will be among the Pelicans’ most exciting players for the 2025-26 NBA season. But can he help NOLA reach the postseason? Only time will tell.
