Key Golden State Warriors Player Opens Up On Upcoming Free Agency

The Golden State Warriors are finding their mojo late in the regular season.

With less than a month before the regular season ends and only 16 games remaining for the club, they are hitting their stride.

The Warriors have benefitted in a massive way since landing Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat at the trade deadline.

Supplying Stephen Curry with a co-star has allowed him to elevate his play to an MVP level, though Butler's presence has also helped every other Warriors player.

Right now, the Warriors are 38-28 and are the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. Currently riding a six-game winning streak, Golden State is building something special this season.

Butler's arrival has transcended the team's play, and they will have another shot at a big season next year.

With Curry's career winding down and the Warriors' championship window coming closer to a close with that being the case, the time is now in the Bay Area.

Retaining the current squad for next season -- and making marginal improvements -- could help the Warriors prepare for banner No. 5 with Curry at the helm.

Kevon Looney opens up on pending free agency

One key Warriors player, who has been with the club for a decade, recently opened up on his upcoming free agency, however.

In an interview with HoopsHype, Kevon Looney broke down what his outlook on free agency currently is.

"I don’t know. I’m focused on this season right now," Looney told HoopsHype. "You never know what’s going to happen in a short period of time. I’m hoping I can stay healthy, have a great end of the season and playoffs, and then see whatever happens.

"You always try to be where you’re at, but things change. Free agency is always crazy, so whatever happens, happens."

Looney is a long-time Warriors veteran, having spent his entire career with the club thus far. Having that continuity, and another voice in the locker room who has been through the ringer with Golden State, is certainly beneficial.
