The Sacramento Kings have an interesting offseason ahead of them as they try to turn their franchise around after another disappointing season.

Sacramento is coming off a season in which they finished ninth in the Western Conference but failed to make the playoffs after being eliminated in the Play-In Tournament by the Dallas Mavericks.

Now the Kings enter the offseason with some key decisions to make regarding their roster and one area of need is the point guard position.

Of course, Sacramento traded away star point guard De’Aaron Fox at the trade deadline to the San Antonio Spurs, leaving them without a true starting point guard.

Despite this, Malik Monk and Keon Ellis both played well as the Kings’ starting point guard throughout the rest of the season but it is clear that Sacramento must make a move for a guard this summer.

According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, the Kings have been linked to the Utah Jazz’s duo as a potential landing spot this offseason.

“Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson are once again on the trade block alongside Collins. Teams like the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings, who need backcourt help this offseason, have been named potential landing spots for both guards,” Siegel wrote.

Sexton and Clarkson have been in trade rumors for many years but it appears as though the Jazz are looking to move them this summer.

For the Kings, adding Sexton would be a massive boost to their point guard position while Clarkson would give them another reliable scorer off the bench next to Monk, if they decide to keep him.

Of course, Sacramento would likely have to move on from DeMar DeRozan in a deal and with the Jazz rebuilding, they would probably want a third team involved to take on DeRozan.

Due to this, it may be difficult for the Kings to pull off a trade for both of Utah’s guards, though they could target just one of them to upgrade their backcourt.
