Russell Westbrook is headed to Sacramento. The nine-time All-Star and 2017 MVP has agreed to a deal with the Kings, his agent Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management told Shams Charania of ESPN.
Westbrook and the Kings maintained communication all offseason as Sacramento searched for point guard depth. Westbrook has bonds with Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, history with BJ Armstrong on agency side, and shared respect for Scott Perry and Doug Christie. https://t.co/Fap7FjKaEc

Westbrook, 36, had been in touch with the Kings all offseason as the team looked to shore up its point guard depth.
The fit makes sense — he’s close with Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, and has long-standing ties to new GM Scott Perry and coach Doug Christie.
The move gives Sacramento another veteran voice and a burst of energy off the bench as Westbrook enters his 18th NBA season.
