Knicks dominate Sixers with red-hot shooting in Game 1

While the Knicks were out in front from the very beginning, the first quarter was a little more competitive. It was a close game early, but New York’s huge efficiency advantage came into play quickly.

After one quarter, the Knicks led by eight and took full control in the second quarter. Philadelphia’s defense had no answer for the Knicks as it felt like New York couldn’t miss a single shot.

Jalen Brunson was as good as ever and finished the first half with 27 points. The Knicks were ahead by 23 points at the break.

In a crucial third quarter, the Sixers maintained an average level of play on offense, but got destroyed on the defensive end.

After shooting 66% in the second quarter, New York’s offense got even hotter with 72% shooting in the third.

In addition to the efficiency, the Knicks had the advantage in virtually every aspect of the game. After three quarters, the Knicks led by 31 points and were able to sub out their starters for the night and coast to the victory.

Brunson finished with 35 points and two steals on 12-of-18 shooting while O.G. Anunoby had 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting.

For Philadelphia, Paul George finished with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
