Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart are having a troll-fest on social media following the New York Knicks’ championship celebrations this year.

The Knicks finally returned to the mountaintop for the first time since 1973. They took down the San Antonio Spurs in five games throughout the 2026 NBA Finals, earning their third title in franchise history. Jalen Brunson went on to win Finals MVP for his efforts throughout the championship series.

New York hosted its championship parade on June 18, having millions of fans attend the memorable event. The Knicks organization got to thank their fans for the support and present the trophy they sorely missed for a long time.

Even the popular HBO show Game of Thrones social media account joined in on the celebrations. There is a throne for fans to sit on as New York currently sits on the throne among NBA teams, having Hart make a bold comment on his account.

“I am the one true heir to the Throne,” Hart wrote.

Towns caught wind of this post and responded with a photo of himself sitting on the throne.

What lies ahead for Karl-Anthony Towns, Knicks

Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart will look forward to helping the Knicks defend their throne throughout the 2026-27 NBA season.

Towns completed the 11th season of his NBA career, his second with the Knicks. Throughout 75 regular-season contests, he averaged 20.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and three assists per game.

New York finished with a 53-29 record on the season, securing the third seed in the East standings. They went 16-3 in the playoffs, rolling off 13 straight wins to get to their first NBA Finals since 1999. After beating the Spurs, they end a 53-year drought as they earn their third-ever title.

The Knicks enter the offseason with plenty of security. They retain their star core but will address some holes in the second unit, which they will do in the draft and free agency.
