Kon Knueppel was a key part of Duke’s run to the Final Four this past season. The projected NBA lottery pick averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, earning second-team All-ACC honors, a spot on the ACC All-Freshman Team, and ACC Tournament MVP.
He’s also the oldest of five brothers. The next in line is Kager Knueppel, a rising junior at Wisconsin Lutheran High School, who is three years younger.
In addition to playing for his high school, Kager Knueppel also plays AAU basketball for Team Herro, the program founded by Miami Heat star Tyler Herro.
The 6-foot-7 small forward from the class of 2027 was in Kansas City this weekend at the EYBL tournament, where he noticeably struggled. Through the first two games, he averaged just 6.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, while shooting 3-of-10 from three-point range.
His mother, Chari Nordgaard, saw a post on social media pointing out his struggles and responded, saying he’s been dealing with a "nagging hammy" injury and that she thinks he’s "back to resting mode."
"He’s been dealing with his nagging hammy again this weekend," Chari Nordgaard posted. "Had to pull out of current game. Thankful to play a bit, but back to the resting mode I think. ."

Chari Nordgaard didn’t share any more details about his injury, but it didn’t sound good after she added "…I think" and included an emoji at the end. Still, the good news for Kager Knueppel is that his team won its first two games.
As for Kon Knueppel, he's still a month away from hearing his name called at the 2025 NBA Draft. According to CBS Sports' Adam Finkelstein , he projects the former Duke star to be selected seventh overall by the New Orleans Pelicans.
