Kris Dunn Will Have Salary Guaranteed For 2026/27

The Clippers will keep Kris Dunn on their roster and guarantee his $5.7MM salary for next season, according to Law Murray of The Athletic (Twitter link).

Dunn inked a three-year deal as part of a sign-and-trade with Utah in 2024 that included a non-guaranteed final season. It will automatically become guaranteed today. He could have triggered an earlier guarantee by earning All-Defensive honors, but he fell just short this year.

Even so, it was an easy decision for the Clippers to retain him. Dunn has mostly been a starter during his two years with the team, and he appeared in all 82 games this season, averaging 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 27.2 minutes per night.

Dunn, 32, is extension-eligible as of July 18 and will become an unrestricted free agent in 12 months if he can’t reach a new deal.
