According to NBA insider Grant Afseth, the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors are expected to be in the mix for Bradley Beal if the veteran guard finalizes a buyout agreement with the Phoenix Suns. Both teams are considered strong landing spots should Beal hit unrestricted free agency in the coming days.

“The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers are among the potential landing spots for Bradley Beal if the veteran guard becomes available via buyout, league sources told RG,” Afseth wrote.

A resolution between Beal and the Suns is expected soon. The two sides have discussed a solution that would dissolve the final two years of Beal’s $110 million deal and eliminate the no-trade clause he initially secured in Washington, granting him complete freedom to choose his next team.

Phoenix remains more than $10 million over the second tax apron, and a buyout that stretches Beal’s remaining salary over multiple years could offer much-needed financial breathing room. The Suns have made sweeping changes to their roster this offseason, including a blockbuster trade that landed Kevin Durant with the Houston Rockets.

The Suns are more than $10 million over the second tax apron. They could benefit from stretching Beal’s salary over five years, a provision that would ease the financial burden and create flexibility as the franchise restructures following the trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets.

Beal played in 53 games for the Suns last season. The NBA veteran averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 49.7% from the field, 38.6% from beyond the arc, and 80.3% from the free-throw line. Both the Clippers and Warriors could benefit from adding his scoring ability.

A three-time All-Star, Beal has played for the Washington Wizards and Suns. He has career averages of 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 801 NBA games. After a tumultuous tenure in Phoenix, he’s in search of a fresh start to regain momentum.

The Clippers lost seven games to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs. On Monday, they agreed to trade Norman Powell to the Miami Heat and acquire John Collins from the Utah Jazz in a three-team trade. Los Angeles has already added Brook Lopez to bolster its frontcourt and remains active in search of adding another impactful complementary player.

The Warriors remain linked to Al Horford but have not signed him yet. Golden State did most of its heavy-lifting at the midseason trade deadline by acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. Still, the team is undoubtedly interested in adding more talent around Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

Meanwhile, the Warriors lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 playoffs in five games. They haven’t made any moves this offseason yet.
