The Los Angeles Lakers announced a new partnership with NordVPN, a leading cybersecurity and digital privacy company.
“We’re thrilled to welcome NordVPN as a Lakers partner and look forward to sharing their brand and services with Lakers fans,” said Los Angeles Lakers Vice President of Global Partnerships Yao Williams in a statement.
“When the Los Angeles Lakers step onto the court, they bring unmatched energy and inspire a wave of confidence in their fans,” said NordVPN Chief Marketing Officer Toma Sabaliauskienė in a statement. “We want fans to feel that same confidence whenever they connect, long after they’ve left the arena. With NordVPN’s next-gen antivirus working in the background to block scams, phishing and malware, fans can navigate the internet without a second thought and keep their focus on the game.”
According to the press release, as part of the partnership, NordVPN will have a prominent presence during Lakers home games through in-arena LED signage, along with social media integrations and digital campaigns highlighting the company’s services to fans.

, designed to help users stay safer and more private online. NordVPN helps protect against phishing, scams, malicious websites, trackers, intrusive ads, and malware, while strengthening online privacy.
Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal was also announced as a global ambassador for NordVPN last month.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Mark Walter had sold his majority share in the Lakers to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger for a record $12.5 billion valuation. This comes just one year after Walter purchased the majority stake in the team from the Buss family.
While the sale has not yet become official, it should be soon as the NBA Board of Governors will reportedly vote to approve it during their upcoming meeting in November.
