The Los Angeles Lakers are 2-2 to start the 2025-26 NBA season. They began the year with a 119-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors before back-to-back wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings.

After that, the Lakers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, 122-108, in LA as Luka Doncic missed the game due to a finger and leg injury.

LeBron James hasn't played this season, and Marcus Smart, Gabe Vincent and Jaxson Hayes also didn't play against Portland.

The Lakers face the Timberwolves on Wednesday as they try to win their third game of the season, although injuries have not helped them early on.

Ahead of the game, the team announced some news on rookie Adou Thiero.

Thiero has not played yet since having surgery in the offseason after suffering a hyperextended knee at the end of his college career.

However, a return seems imminent.

"Lakers rookie Adou Thiero has been cleared for live on-court contact work, per the Lakers. He has been assigned to the South Bay Lakers, to continue his progression towards 5-on-5 play by joining South Bay’s training camp," per ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Thiero was selected in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft, and the former Arkansas star could be a solid bench piece for the Lakers once he gets up and running again.

The South Bay Lakers opened training camp on Monday, and their first game of the regular season is on November 8 against the Valley Suns.
