The Los Angeles Lakers merged two of the NBA's biggest stars last season when they traded for Luka Doncic.

Doncic now plays alongside LeBron James, one of the biggest stars in NBA history. He was traded during the season in a deal that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers guard helped lead Los Angeles to the No. 3 seed in last season's playoffs. But LA lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round despite having momentum heading into the postseason with one of the NBA's best duos backing them under head coach JJ Redick.

In the offseason, as Doncic prepares for his first full season with the Lakers, he's been participating in the Eurobasket tournament with Slovenia.

On Saturday, Slovenia was playing Latvia. During the game, Doncic went down with a knee injury that forced him off the court.

While the internet went into a frenzy, the latest reports around Doncic revealed his official diagnosis, removing any major concern for the Lakers.

According to Marc Stein, Doncic's injury is not believed to be serious, calling it a right knee contusion.

Throughout the 2024-25 season, where Luka Doncic played with the Mavericks and the Lakers, he posted 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game.

Doncic proved that he was still one of the top performers in the NBA, even sharing the spotlight with a star like James. With time, Doncic looks to be the face of the franchise as James enters what could be his final season.

Doncic has played seven seasons in the NBA, having already established an incredible list of awards, such as being named a five-time All-NBA member and five-time All-Star.
