Lakers Expected To Cut 2 Players After Bronny James Has Best Game Yet

The Los Angeles Lakers have exceeded expectations this season, as they are currently third in the Western Conference with a 43-26 record. While the likes of LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves have stolen all the headlines, the role players have played their part well, too. Bronny James was the latest to do so against the Milwaukee Bucks, finishing with 17 points, three rebounds, five assists and a block.

While many have stepped up, there are some who have not made much of an impact this season for the Lakers. Two such individuals look set to be on their way out, with The Athletic's Jovan Buha reporting that Alex Len and Cam Reddish are expected to be cut.

The Lakers have Jordan Goodwin, Trey Jemison III and Christian Koloko on two-way deals at the moment and have no open roster spots. Players who don't have a standard NBA contract cannot play in the postseason, so if the team wanted any of them to become eligible, someone had to make way.

With Len struggling and Reddish being out of the rotation, they were the two players most likely to be cut. Len has averaged just 2.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.3 blocks per game for the Lakers since they acquired him in February.

Reddish, meanwhile, has put up 3.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game in 2024-25. He was a big part of the Lakers' rotation in the first half of the season but has been phased out now.

Goodwin is certainly going to be one of the replacements but the question is who else joins him? It's still unclear if the Lakers would want to give that final roster spot to Koloko or Jemison.
