With the trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo now official, the NBA offseason is expected to accelerate rapidly. On Monday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks agreed to send the two-time MVP to the Miami Heat in exchange for a substantial package that includes Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakučionis, the No. 13 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2030 pick swap, and a second-round pick in 2033. Reporting from multiple sources indicates that the Bucks might not be done with roster moves, but it appears they stand firm on one of their new key acquisitions.

Per a report by Jake Fisher, the Bucks appear to be looking to package the 10th and 13th pick in tonight’s NBA draft to move up into the top ten, but appear to be high on new Bucks center Kel’el Ware and Kasparas Jakučionis.

“I do believe Milwaukee has tried to package Nos. 10 and 13 to move up in tonight’s first round, but I don’t believe there’s going to be any trades in the top-10,” Fischer posted to his X account. “Sources say the Bucks, at this point, plan to keep Kel’el Ware, despite interest from rival teams like the Lakers. Milwaukee coveted Ware and Kasparas Jakučionis in their recent drafts. The Bucks also value Tyler Herro, sources say, and don’t necessarily plan to move him, while Milwaukee will field offers for the All-Star scorer.”

Early on Tuesday afternoon, HoopsHype’s Michael Scott reported that the Lakers were interested in trading for Ware, but it appears that Los Angeles will need to find another center who can meet their contending expectations.
