The Los Angeles Lakers definitely won the Luka Doncic trade with the Dallas Mavericks. While Anthony Davis continues to be riddled with injuries amid his run with the Mavs, Doncic has been largely healthy for the Purple and Gold and a dominant force on the offensive end.
Doncic leads the league in points per game at 34.5 in 12 games played. He is also averaging 8.8 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 2.0 steals. The Slovenian guard has established himself as an MVP candidate, on par with Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeos-Alexander.
More recently, the 26-year-old guard made history as the first player ever to record at least 400 points and 100 assists in his first 12 games. The NBA made the announcement after the Lakers' win against the Utah Jazz on Sunday, which saw Doncic increase his season totals to 414 points and 107 assists.
On Tuesday, the Lakers shared Doncic's latest accomplishment to further hype him up.
"Historic start for Luka Dončić," the Lakers wrote.

Of the 12 games Doncic has played so far, he scored less than 20 points just once — against the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he scored 19.
It's worth noting, however, that Doncic has already tallied four 40-point games this campaign. He now has 50 games with at least 40 points, putting him at No. 13 for players with the most of such stat lines before turning 30 years old.
Considering the way he's playing, it's not hard to see Doncic making more scoring records as the 2025-26 season progresses.
