LeBron James just keeps making history in the NBA, and sure enough, the Los Angeles Lakers are getting used to it.

After breaking the 50,000-point mark in their previous game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, James returned to action on Wednesday and secured another piece of history in the process.

Against the New York Knicks, James helped lead the Lakers to a 113-109 overtime victory. He put up a near triple-double of 31 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists to give L.A. its eighth straight win.

In doing so, James also improved his all-time wins in the regular season to 1,002, moving him past Tim Duncan for the third-most in NBA history.

Following his latest milestone, the Lakers made sure to celebrate him. On social media, the team posted an edited photo of James with texts detailing his accomplishment.

"Another historic night for the King," the Lakers wrote in the caption, along with a crown emoji.

LeBron James is now just 13 wins away from surpassing Boston Celtics icon Robert Parish (1,014 wins) for the No. 2 spot on the all-time wins list. As for getting the top spot, however, the Lakers star has plenty of work to do.

Purple and Gold icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar currently holds the record for most regular-season victories with 1,074. If James wants a shot at the record, he will need to suit up next season and keep winning games.
