Lakers Tied For Most National TV Games In 2025-26

The NBA has released the schedule for the 2025-26 season, and the Los Angeles Lakers are once again the team with the most games on national television. Unlike last season, though, the Lakers don't stand alone at the top. Here is the full list of how many games each team will have on national TV.

The Lakers led the way with 39 last season, followed by the Golden State Warriors at 36. Both have seen a bit of a decrease, but remain two of the most intriguing teams in the NBA. The New York Knicks, one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference, join them at the top with the same number as they had last season.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the 2025 NBA champions, have rightly been bumped up to the top, having gotten 25 games last season. That's by no means the biggest jump, though.

The Houston Rockets are seen as one of the biggest threats to the Thunder in the Western Conference and have gone up from 11 last season to 28 this time around. The arrival of Kevin Durant via trade has helped matters, and on the other side, it has led to the Phoenix Suns going from 30 to nine.

The most surprising entry in that top 10 is perhaps the Boston Celtics. With Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis having been traded and Jayson Tatum being injured, the Celtics aren't going to be very good in 2025-26. They still get 11 more games than the Orlando Magic, who are viewed as another one of the favorites in the East.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have five teams getting just two games. The New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Washington Wizards aren't expected to make much noise next season, but we could get a surprise from one of them.

The Detroit Pistons were only given four games on national television in 2024-25 and are all the way up to 16 after posting a 44-38 record. With how weak the East is, one of those lower-tier teams in the conference could spring a surprise. 

The 2025-26 NBA season will tip off on Oct. 21, with two games. The Thunder will first take on the Rockets at Paycom Center at 7:30 p.m. ET, and the Lakers will later face off against the Warriors at Crypto.com Arena at 10 p.m. ET.
