It has been a busy day for the Los Angeles Lakers. First, reports came out that LeBron James wanted a contract extension but the Lakers decided against it. Now, it’s been reported that the Lakers are going to give head coach JJ Redick a contract extension after just one season under his belt.

Redick took over for Darvin Ham last season, on a four-year deal. In his first year, Redick led the Lakers to a 50-32 record.

LA finished as the third seed but faltered in the first round, losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games. Still, the Lakers front office clearly has faith in Redick.

At this moment, there’s no word on what the extension will be. All we know is that Redick is the Lakers’ head coach and that will not change any time soon.
