A boat ride in St. Tropez may have just added some serious NBA fuel to the fire that LeBron James could one day team up with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

Hey, this is the NBA and this is LeBron. We never really know what to believe.

Anyway, longtime Jokic agent Misko Raznatovic posted an Instagram photo on Saturday that included not just himself and Jokic’s crew, but James and business partner Maverick Carter.

The caption? “The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026! @kingjames @mavcarter.”

Now, we’re not saying LeBron’s headed to Denver. But we’re also not not saying it, either.

Speculation surrounding James’ next move has been picking up steam ever since he exercised his $52.6 million player option to return to the Lakers this season. His agent, Rich Paul, made it clear James still wants to win — and will be keeping an eye on how L.A. builds out the roster.

Plenty of teams have been linked to the future Hall of Famer in the event he moves on. The list includes the Cavaliers, Mavericks, Warriors and Knicks, just to name a few. But the Nuggets? They haven’t been talked about as much, though maybe they should be.

Jokic and James running pick-and-rolls, with Jamal Murray spacing the floor and Aaron Gordon playing glue guy? Not bad.

The fit is intriguing but the finances are tricky. The Nuggets already owe Jokic $59 million and Murray $50.1 million in 2026-27. Gordon ($32 million) and newcomer Cam Johnson ($23 million) are locked in, too. That doesn’t leave much wiggle room for a LeBron-level contract.

Then again, maybe James doesn’t need another $50 million. At 40 years old, he’s still performing at an All-NBA level, but could be willing to take less to chase one more ring alongside the best big man in the game.

As one NBA scout told Hoops Wire: “This feels like the Lakers’ last run with LeBron. It’s just a matter of where he sees the best chance to win. And yes, Denver makes a lot of sense.”
