The Lakers needed him back in the lineup, as they had been coming off a 97-87 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, which is the fourth game they've dropped in the last five.
After Memphis, the Lakers will head back on the road to visit De'Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings on Thursday evening.
The Grizzlies entered play in the middle of a four-game winning streak (and winners in nine of their last ten).
This season, the teams have each gone 1-1 in their two matchups against each other.
