LeBron James: ‘Every day is getting better’ with Sixers

LeBron James is still getting used to Philadelphia. The 76ers, meanwhile, are already getting used to him.

Tony Jones of The Athletic writes that James’ impact has been evident both in the locker room and on the floor as he adjusts to a new team for the first time since joining the Lakers in 2018.

“Every day is getting better,” James said. “When I get around these guys, it definitely helps.”

Jones notes that James continues to arrive early, often getting work in before practice officially begins. On the court, he wants Philadelphia playing faster and attacking before defenses can get organized.

“I think it’s always important just to be able to attack offensively before the defense is set,” James said.

That makes sense with Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and Jaylen Brown around him. James believes those players can put pressure on defenses immediately in transition.

And while he’s still settling into life on the other side of the country, basketball appears to be helping. “It’s fun to go to work,” James said.

James is still adjusting to a new city and a new roster, but the basketball part already looks familiar — arrive early, set the standard and get everyone moving before the defense can get comfortable. Philadelphia has plenty to sort out, but his influence is already obvious.
