LeBron James may not have his 1297-game streak of scoring 10+ points a game, but that only makes him more dangerous.
LeBron James proved once again why he will be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time with an excellent play to help the LA Lakers get back to winning ways.
LeBron gave up his 1297-game 10-point streak to set up Rui Hachimura for a game-winning shot against the Toronto Raptors.
Many fans applauded LeBron for making the pass, as he proved once again that he prioritizes winning over his personal stats.
And after the game, James confirmed this notion and warned the rest of the NBA that performances like he had against the Raptors aren’t going to be commonplace.
LeBron James spoke to reporters after the LA Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors. When a reporter asked him about his struggles on the offensive end, James admitted that he is still finding his rhythm.
LeBron: “I’m still getting in a rhythm. This is my sixth game. It’s obviously well documented. I’ve never missed a whole training camp, a whole preseason before, let alone the first 14 games of the regular season.
“I’m still figuring out my rhythm offensively. I know I can still make an impact on the floor, but still trying to fill it up.”
A reporter pointed out that James is now 2-0 in the last two games where he scored less than 10 points in his career, to which he responded, he won’t make it a habit, but always focus on making winning plays.
Reporter: “Did you know you’re 2-0 in games where you don’t score 10 points?”
LeBron: “I won’t make that a habit, though. You guys have been around me for 8 years, been covering my career. I always just make the right play. That’s all that matters.
“Win, lose, or draw, you make the right play always. The game has always given back to me, no matter whether it’s a win or a loss. That’s how I was raised, and that’s how I always play the game.”
Coming into the season, there was some concern about LeBron James’ investment in the LA Lakers. Unlike previous years, James took his $52.6 million Lakers option after failing to come to terms on a new deal.
While James confirmed he took the option because he didn’t know his future plans, and whether he would continue playing beyond this season or retire at the end of it.
