LeBron James officially broke Robert Parish’s record for the most regular-season games played in NBA history on Saturday night, surpassing Robert Parish's long-standing record of 1,611.
But the game winner came from Luke Kennard, who hit a corner three-pointer with 0.6 seconds left to secure a 105-104 victory over the Orlando Magic.
And the thrilling victory improved the Lakers' record to 46-25, with James posting 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Now, with the grind of the regular season almost at the end, James has made a decision about his "Mind the Game" podcast's new guest.
According to a teaser posted by “Mind the Game” director Jason Gallagher on X, Reaves is set to appear on James’ show alongside co-host Steve Nash this week. It will allegedly feature the trio analyzing plays on a laptop, maintaining the show's signature focus on high-level basketball IQ and X's and O's.
Their last guest was Timothée Chalamet, who raved on March 5. Then they aired a basketball-focused episode on March 10 titled "LeBron on What's Changed About NBA Officiating" before the announcement of Reaves as the next guest.
Just to recap, the 27-year-old Lakers guard has come a long way since going undrafted out of the Oklahoma Sooners in 2021. After starting on a two-way contract, he’s moved from the end of the bench to a serious scoring option for the Purple and Gold.
This season, he’s averaging 23.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists on 49.1% shooting. In Saturday’s narrow win, Reaves played 40 minutes despite a sore left hip, finishing with 26 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
While he seemed fine after the game, the team is monitoring his status for Monday’s matchup in Detroit. With Maxi Kleber still out with a back injury, JJ Reddick needs Reaves to be healthy for the trip to Little Caesars Arena on Monday.
