LeBron James may still be dominating in his 21st NBA season, but at home, he’s just another husband getting side-eyed for his bedtime routine.
In the latest episode of "Mind the Game" with Steve Nash, the Lakers forward shared a revealing glimpse into his home life—specifically, how his early sleep schedule has sparked reactions from his wife, Savannah James. While most fans know about his intense recovery regimen, LeBron’s commitment to sleep has become a nightly talking point in the James household.
“She gets mad at me when it’s time for me to go to bed,” James said. “About nine o’clock at night, I’m like, ‘What time you going to bed?’ She’s like, ‘You’re going to sleep?!’ Yeah, I am.”
The NBA legend emphasized that sleep is just as vital as any piece of high-end recovery equipment—and he’s serious about protecting it. “That’s how much I love sleep and take care of my body,” he added.
21 years of routine maintenance and sustained greatness.

James, who turns 40 later this year, has been open about the aging process and how he feels it after every game. But that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to invest in longevity, reportedly spending over $1.5 million annually on recovery techniques, chefs, specialists, and treatments.
Sleep, though? That might be the most underrated part of it all—whether Savannah likes it or not.
