LeBron James, one of the best floor generals in NBA history, had a career milestone on Sunday. The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Sacramento Kings, an old rival. James and the Lakers are coming off a 129-101 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. Fresh off a win, the team has positive momentum moving forward.
Aside from being the league's all-time leader in points, James has also racked up his career assists numbers. Against the Kings, he entered the top 5 all-time franchise assists list, surpassing former Lakers star Michael Cooper. It was a significant achievement for the four-time NBA champion.
With his third assist of the night, he surpassed Cooper, who had 3,666 assists with LA. James now joins Norm Nixon, Jerry West, Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson in the top 5 list.

Passing the ball has always been a part of James' game. Before their contest against the Kings, the NBA star had averaged 7.0 assists through 41 games. This season, he's had 288 total assists, according to Basketball Reference.
During his stint with the Lakers, James led the league in assists per game with 10.2 during the 2019-20 season. The four-time MVP also led the NBA with total assists that same year, with 684.
James is fourth in the all-time assists list across the league with 11,872. He has played an all-around style of basketball throughout his career, consistently involving his teammates and scoring points quickly.
Before the Lakers' dominant win over the Warriors, LeBron James shared a special moment with his daughter, Zhuri. During his pregame warmup, the NBA star received an assist from Zhuri. She threw a lob pass to her father, who dunked it with both hands.
After the team's win, James talked about the time he spent with his daughter on the court.
“She’s a good luck charm,” James said via The Athletic's Dan Woike.

“I … miss a lot of moments spending time with my kids because of my career,” he continued. “… Over the course of my career, anytime I get moments with them, either individually, two of them, three of them all together, whatever the case may be, it’s always special for me. To have my daughter want to come on the road… it was pretty cool. It was awesome.”
James had a strong 22-point game against the Warriors on 66.7% shooting from deep. He also had seven rebounds and nine assists.
