LeBron James' Mom Receives Honor

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are currently focused on their NBA playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Purple and Gold lost Game 1 on Tuesday night, as OKC blew them out, 108-90.

James had a game-high 27 points, but he didn't get much help outside of Rui Hachimura who scored 18. Austin Reaves struggled mightily in the contest, finishing with just eight points on 3-of-16 shooting.

Despite the tough situation the Lakers are in, however, James hasn't forgotten to celebrate his family and give them his attention. In fact, on Wednesday, James revealed on social media that his mother, Gloria James, recently won an award.

James shared his mom's post, which stated that she received the Distinguished Motherhood award from A-Style Fashion and Accessories during a pre-Mother's Day event in New Jersey over the weekend.

"It was an absolute pleasure to attend the Pre-Mother’s Day Wellness Weekend by @astylefashions in New Jersey and an honor to receive their Distinguished Motherhood award," Gloria James wrote.

"There’s nothing I enjoy more than being a mother and sharing that love with anyone who needs it and my personal lessons and learnings along the way. Thank you @acoage and @emurdock5 for a lovely fireside chat and as always, my incredible team for helping make this all happen."

While the Lakers forward didn't write a caption for the post, the fact that he reposted it highlights how proud he is of his mom's achievement.

Several fans also made sure to congratulate the James family matriarch, with one fan writing, "Congratulations mama James well deserved you are a awesome mom."

"Congrats Ms. Glo!" a commenter added. Another one said, "Keep shining Queen."

"Awesome job always giving back," a supporter shared.

A fifth follower stated, "LeBron is definitely his mom's twin & congratulations for your award."
