LeBron James out Wednesday vs. 76ers with knee soreness

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James enjoyed quite the successful "homecoming" during Monday's impressive 131-120 victory at the Cleveland Cavaliers. James torched his former club to the tune of 38 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds, and he also posterized former teammate Kevin Love with a thunderous dunk that caused even Cleveland fans to jump to their feet.

The King could use a night off during the final full week of March.

Per ESPN, James won't play in Wednesday night's home game against the Philadelphia 76ers due to left knee soreness. Following that matchup, the Lakers won't take the court again until Sunday's contest at the New Orleans Pelicans.

Monday's win improved the Lakers to 31-41 on the campaign, but they remain in ninth place in the Western Conference standings and are just three games ahead of the San Antonio Spurs in the race to avoid falling out of the play-in tournament spots.

"I'm going to play with a lot of passion, a lot of energy, give my teammates what they deserve, what they need and like I said for the rest of the season hopefully I can stay somewhat injury-free," James told reporters after his stellar performance in Cleveland. "Obviously, I'm dealing with a few injuries right now, but I'm working through it and we're working through it and that's all that matters. We leave everything on the floor and control what you can control and what you can't you don't worry about. Just my mindset."

Per ESPN stats, James leads the entire Association in scoring with 30.0 points per game.
