The James household has always seemed to revolve around the game of basketball — at least from the outside looking in. But while Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James continues to play at an exceptionally high level at the age of 39, it was a comment he shared from his mother that really puts into perspective how impressive the accomplishments of his family on the hardwood are.
On Saturday night, James posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that his mom stated how crazy it is that she's watching her grandson, Bronny James, play on television while sitting next to him.
Crazy man! My mom sitting right next to me just said “You know how amazing this is!? Sitting here with my son while watching my grandson on TV. I feel so present and blessed”. Sh** almost brought me to tears just now.
James' mother has witnessed her son take over the NBA since joining the league as the No. 1 pick in 2003 at just 19 years old. Now she and LeBron, who remains one of the most elite players in the NBA, are seeing Bronny emerge during his first season with the USC Trojans.
Bronny logged 25 minutes as a starter for USC on Saturday in an 82-67 loss to Arizona State while piecing together an impressive all-around game with seven points on 3-of-6 shooting, five assists, and four rebounds. It's unknown what the immediate future after his first collegiate season holds. Still, the younger James is already on the radar of NBA teams, and as we've seen previously, LeBron has spoken often about the idea of sharing the floor with his son.
A potential outcome featuring both LeBron and Bronny on an NBA court together seems realistic and certainly possible at this rate, even if they aren't wearing the same uniform. Regardless, if that did pan out, it'd make for a historical and incredibly memorable moment in NBA history, along with what would surely be one of the best moments of the future Hall-of-Famer's basketball career and life as a father.
