LeBron James called out NBA Insider Bill Reiter after he claimed that James "had grown frustrated with Anthony Davis."
There hasn't been a bigger trade in recent memory than the one that saw Luka Doncic leave the Dallas Mavericks to join the Los Angeles Lakers and Anthony Davis go the other way.
The trade has generated a lot of buzz, especially since it was unexpected. At the same time, many fans and insiders couldn't understand how such a trade could have happened, which is why they started searching for reasons.
Although James wasn't directly involved in the trade, NBA Insider Bill Reiter suggested during his appearance on CBS Sports that the 40-year-old superstar "had grown frustrated" with Davis, which might have been one of the reasons for his trade.
"I have not been able to reach every source, as this is a breaking news story. So, I'm going to tell you something that was true a year ago, and I think it's pertinent now. At the time, there was talk within the Lakers organization that LeBron James had grown a little frustrated with Anthony Davis."
According to Reiter, Davis' "moodiness" and inconsistency could have been the reason behind James' frustration. However, James himself called out the NBA Insider on X.
The four-time NBA champion shared the post in which Reiter suggested that he had grown frustrated with his ex-teammate and captioned it with a not quite family friendly response.
From James' response, it's clear that the 21-time NBA All-Star didn't have any disagreements with Davis, and he was probably also caught off-guard by the unexpected trade.
On the other hand, the 40-year-old legend has shown how much he respects Luka Doncic multiple times in the past, and he might be looking forward to joining forces with the Slovenian, who is now recovering from an injury.
