Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and JJ Redick started the "Mind the Game" podcast in 2024. The first episode came out on March 19, 2024. It has over 4.3 million views.
Redick was hired by the Lakers as their new head coach last summer, so he left the podcast. James and Jason Gallagher (Mind the Game producer) replaced Redick with Hall of Famer Steve Nash.
"Mind the Game" has over 777,000 subscribers on YouTube. James, the leading scorer in NBA history, was recently asked by The Hollywood Reporter if Nash can teach him anything new in basketball and the NBA icon gave a detailed answer.
"Oh, absolutely," James said. "Every time we get an opportunity to have a sit down — the cadence that we have together as we continue to build and continue to shoot more and more episodes, you continue to learn from one another. The basketball knowledge, the love of the game.
"So, like, absolutely. I’m always trying to continue to learn, no matter where I’m at in my career; two decades-plus into the NBA. But I’m still always trying to learn, and to have the ability to sit across from Steve Nash, one of the greats to play our game, is definitely a luxury."
James and Nash are two of the greatest players of all time. They have combined to win six MVPs.
Nash won two MVPs during his career with the Phoenix Suns, while James is a four-time MVP.
An eight-time All-Star, Nash made the Hall of Fame in 2018. James, 40, will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer after he retires from the NBA.
